Privacy Policy

Every game marks a moment, and Waypoint is where you keep them. This page explains what the app collects and what happens to it.

What we collect

• Account: your email address (used only to send sign-in codes), your username, and any profile details you add (display name, bio, avatar, header art).
• Your gaming activity: logs, ratings, reviews, Highlights, collections, hours, progress, and played-with tags. Waypoint is a social diary, so this activity is public by design and can appear on your profile, in followers' feeds, and on shareable web pages. Private notes (your journal) are the exception: they are visible only to you, enforced at the database level.
• On your device only: preferences like dark mode, drafts, and recent searches stay on the device and are never uploaded.

What we don't do

• No advertising, no trackers, no analytics profiles, and we never sell data.
• Crash reports (Sentry) are scrubbed before sending: no account identity is attached, and console contents and URL parameters are stripped.
• Game metadata and artwork come from IGDB; those requests are made by our servers, so IGDB never sees who you are.

Where it lives

Your data is stored and processed by Supabase (database, authentication and file storage) and email sign-in codes are delivered through our email provider. Access is protected by row-level security policies.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete account removes your account and all of your content (logs, reviews, collections, notes, avatar) immediately and permanently. No copies are retained.

Safety

You can report any review or comment and block any user in the app. Reports are reviewed and acted on promptly. Blocks are private. The blocked user is not notified.
